By 1990, Philadelphia’s The Dead Milkmen had established themselves as one of American punk’s strangest and most irreverent voices. Following the unexpected success of “Punk Rock Girl,” the band returned with their fifth album, Metaphysical Graffiti—a record filled with absurd humor, social satire, deliberately juvenile jokes, and attacks on everything from religion to consumer culture.

Even the title and artwork were part of the joke. Metaphysical Graffiti parodied Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti, with drummer Dean Clean designing the cover. Songs like “Methodist Coloring Book,” “Do the Brown Nose,” and “If You Love Somebody, Set Them on Fire” continued the band’s tradition of using comedy to expose the ridiculousness of American culture. Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes also appeared on the record.

We sourced the past.
Then changed its composition.

Vintage fabrics—broken in by years of wear—restructured with hand-placed rhinestones, embellishments and custom dye
Every piece is a different outcome.
Same formula.
Unrepeatable results.
*hand wash or dry clean only*
